Everyone quotes the old adage, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” but we all do. We can’t help it. Having a good cover will attract readers who want to know more after seeing it. But it is more than just good art. A cover must have a legible title and author’s name. You want readers to be able to understand the title and name even when they see the cover as a thumbnail on a website. Let our art department help you design the best cover for your book.
Book covers can be made from original art or from stock photos that have been artistically manipulated. All book covers will become the sole property of the author when the final cover is approved.
Choose from paperback or ebook. Our artist, Morwenna Rakestraw, will discuss your needs with you and work with you to create your cover. Take a look at some of the sample covers she has designed. We are very lucky to have her in our art department.
Includes front, spine and back. Front cover can also be used for an ebook in some cases. Author will own all rights to the finished cover. Please contact us to discuss your needs and get a quote.
Front cover only. Author will own all rights to finished cover. Please contact us to discuss your needs and get a quote.
There will be a charge of $8 per hour for photo research, if necessary, for any cover design.
Licensing of photos from stock sites will be the author’s responsibility (usually between $9 and $20 each); this cost will be added to the final tally if we do it for you.
We will not use photos you do not have the legal right to use. Copying a photo found on a Google search does not give the legal right to use that photo in a commercial venture such as a book. Instead, we recommend stock sites such as shutterstock.com, istockphoto.com, fotolia.com and many others.
ISBN will be provided by author.
